Motorists filling up with diesel at service stations up and down the country are now used to buying fuel which contains up to 7 per cent biodiesel. The blend of 7 per cent biodiesel to 93 per cent mineral diesel means that no changes are required to the logistics of the fuel supply chain or to vehicle engines.

The use of 100 per cent biodiesel (or B100) is different. B100 needs to be kept heated and that requires dedicated fuel storage tanks and some alterations to vehicles. Once the necessary modifications are made, it works very well.

Our research has shown that Argent biodiesel delivers maximum fuel efficiency in a 20 per cent to 30 per cent blend (B20 to B30) with mineral diesel.

This can generally be used without the need for any vehicle modifications.
