Whilst biodiesel represents the vast majority of our plant’s output, the process creates other products which all have uses.
One is a crude form of glycerine which is used for anaerobic digestion helping to create a renewable gas, or as an alternative fuel source helping to create renewable electricity.
There’s also a small amount of potassium sulphate which is used in agriculture as a fertiliser.
A heavier ‘biofuel oil’ is produced during the distillation process. This renewable oil is used as fuel in our plant’s boiler, substantially reducing the environmental impact of our manufacturing process.
