Andrew Hunter
Chief Executive, Argent Energy plc

A graduate of the European Business School, Andy worked for Security Pacific Hoare Govett broking European equities and then spent nine years at Hillsdown Holdings plc in many roles culminating as an operations executive on the management board.  He co-led a £90m management buy-out in 1997 creating Argent Group Europe Limited and is its Joint Managing Director.

Jim Walker, CBE
Managing Director, Argent Energy (UK) Limited

Jim Walker joined Argent Energy in 2003. He is responsible for Argent Energy's strategic business development and plant operations at Motherwell. He currently acts as a consultant to Robert Wiseman Dairies, the East Kilbride based liquid milk processor. He was Chairman of Quality Meat Scotland from April 2003 until October 2005 following four years as President and one year as Vice-President of NFU Scotland.

Douglas Ward, CBE
Director

Doug first worked in the poultry industry in the 1970s, originally on the edible side and has now been involved in the animal by-products industry for many years. He was MD of By-Products for the former Hillsdown Holdings plc and was involved in the MBO of the former Hillsdown companies that formed the base of Argent Energy.

James Boyd
Group Finance Director

Jim Boyd joined Argent Energy in February 2008 having worked within Argent Group Europe since early 2007. He was Finance Director of ProStrakan plc in the period following its listing on the main stock exchange in 2005. Previously he spent 14 years in a variety of senior finance positions in business units of Spectris plc most recently as VP Finance of Bruel & Kjaer based in Denmark. He is a Chartered Accountant.

Stewart Easdon
Purchasing and Logistics Director

Stewart graduated from Newcastle University in 1977 with an Honours Degree in Agricultural Biochemistry and Animal Nutrition. Stewart has spent 8 years in the animal food manufacturing industry in nutrition, procurement, production and sales areas. A further 18 years was spent in the integrated poultry meat industry predominantly in commodity procurement. Stewart joined Argent Energy in 2003.

Shaun Stewart
Development Director

Shaun trained as an accountant and has had Senior Finance roles in Diamant Boart (UK) Ltd and the U.N. in Rome. Shaun became Development Director of Argent Energy (UK) Limited in January 2002.  Shaun has the overall responsibility for planning, developing and implementing strategic initiatives and projects.

Michael Scott
Technical Director

Mike has a degree in Chemical Process Engineering and a Master of Science and is also a Chartered Engineer and Scientist. As well as dealing with technical and scientific issues Mike is also involved with the BIODIEPRO research project in Graz, Austria. Mike has worked for Argent Energy since 2001.

Chris Bond
Legal & Environmental Director

Chris worked for 22 years with the Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department before joining Argent Energy in 2002. A law graduate from Aberdeen University, Chris is involved in environmental, legal, press & media issues and co-ordinating the BIODIEPRO research project in Graz, Austria which is researching Biodiesel and its co-products from tallow and used cooking oil.

Dickon Posnett
Managing Director, Argent New Zealand

Before joining Argent Energy, Dickon, a Chartered Marketer, spent six years pioneering the Treasury’s Wider Markets Initiative for the MOD, establishing new businesses and founding commercial partnerships. Prior to moving to New Zealand, Dickon was responsible for implementing the future business programmes and the co-ordination of Argent's next phase of development of biodiesel plants and other renewable energy programmes.
